There is an 'official' trigger list from the NRS of what may trigger rosacea but no one has ever come up with a bullet proof trigger list since every rosacean is different. What may trigger your rosacea may not trigger the next rosacean. For example Joie de Vie has a long list of chemical drugs that MAY trigger rosacea. On this list Joie de Vie lists aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) and Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) as a rosacea trigger. Now it is true that these MAY trigger your rosacea, but taking an asprin or a vitamin C will not trigger a rosacea flare-up in EVERY rosacean. No one has a list of even ONE TRIGGER that will cause a rosacea flare in EVERY rosacean. Name the trigger. So you simply have to find what trigger factors cause your rosacea to flare up. It is an individual thing. You may be interested in reading my editorial on the X-Factor. A list of possible topicals that may trigger rosacea is in my new book. You should be aware of the different topical triggers that many report aggravate rosacea which is discussed in Chapter 11. You may view the list I have made in my book on page 46 by clicking here. Just remember that all the triggers on any list are all anecdotal reports and there are no clinical studies done on rosacea triggers except for coffee. Spicy food is mentioned as a rosacea trigger frequently.
